While still images can be helpful, nothing captures the essentials of the lap making process as well as a video showing details of the actual method.  There are four video clips on this page, ranging from 29 seconds in length to 2 minutes and 8 seconds.  They have been encoded in Apple QuickTime format, and can be viewed by any standard PC (you don't need a MAC), as long as you have a recent version of the QuickTime player. If you can't play the videos, you can download the latest free QuickTime viewer at the following link:

Note that the QuickTime viewer IS free; while they suggest that you pay for QuickTime Pro, look a little more carefully and you will find a link for the free player. There is a movie control toolbar at the base of each video.  From left to right, it contains: the Volume control, the Start/Pause button, the Movie Slider, Fast Forward and Reverse, and a Settings button.  Patience may be needed with slower, dial-up modems.  When this page loads, the movies stream in without playing; their progress is shown by a growing grey bar to the right of the Movie Slider.  To play any video clip, simply click its Start button.  The movie may pause if playback catches up with the stream coming in, but it will resume as more video streams in.  Note that there is a bit of a war on between the three mutually incompatible video players - Microsoft Media Player, Real Player, and QuickTime.  The videos on this page require QuickTime, but you may need to change your file association settings to avoid getting a "I don't recognize this foreign format" if one of the other players is set as your default video player.
